Free Kobo Touch Available in the Philippines

Kobo Touch Starting today, customers in the Philippines who subscribe to one of Smart Communications new data plans will receive a new Kobo Touch free of charge.

Those who take out a Plan 499 subscription, which includes 30 hours of Internet access every month via the Smart Bro Pocket WiFi,  delivered by the country’s largest broadband network at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbs, will be eligible for the eReader.

Michele Curran said in a statement,

The Kobo Touch eReader is a great new addition to our quickly expanding lineup of premium mobile devices available through Gadget Plus Plans, which makes it easier for Filipinos without a credit card to get the latest gadgets that they want.”

Kobo has had a presence in the Philippines since 2013 and has been running a successful online bookstore there as well as selling their full range eReaders.
