Onyx Boost has just announced it is joining Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Kobo in releasing an eReader with a built in front light. It comes with the same 758 x 1024 e-ink touch screen that the Kindle Paperwhite has and is available for eReader Store for €199 (tax inc) or €179 (without tax).
The Firefly comes with WiFi, 8GB of storage space, a microSD card slot (a 16GB card is included), a 3.5mm headphone jack, a cover, USB cable and a USB charger. It runs on an 800MHz Freescale processor and has 128 MB of RAM.
Additional features include: text-to-speech, a web browser, audio player, multiple language support, integrated dictionary, widgets and supports an impressive number of formats: Adobe DRM, EPUB, PDF, TXT, HTML, MOBI, FB2, DOC, CHM, PDB, DJVU, TCR, CBR, CBZ, JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, MP3, and WAV.
It is due to launch on November 9th and although the device is priced in Euros and aimed at the European market, it’s distributer eReader Store will ship to most International countries.
